45 th edition of Nando’s Royal Life Saving Society Open Water Swim Cancelled
Nando’s Mauritius, 17 th March 2019:
The Corona Virus has been declared a Global pandemic by the World Health Organisation. After careful consultation between Nando’s and the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) regarding the health and safety of our organisers, swimmers, employees and sponsors – we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 45 th edition of the Nando’s Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) Open Water Swim which is scheduled to be held on Sunday 19 April 2020.
Following a statement by the CEO of Nando’s, Mark Elsbury, and President of the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), Dhiraz Dosieah, they declared: “Over increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.”
